GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's volleyball team lost 3-0 against the Penn State Behrend Lions in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) contest.
 
The Lions won the first and second sets, 25-19 and 25-15 respectively. In the third set, the Lions had a 21-13 lead that was cut to 21-20 on a seven-point run by the Tomcats. After a timeout, the Lions were able to close out the set and win 25-21.
 
For the Tomcats, Dakota Forrest (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell) led the team with 10 kills and 12.0 points. Forrest also chipped in 10 digs. Zac Smith (Pittsburgh, Pa./Keystone Oaks) totaled seven kills and 8.5 points. Nick Koorsen (Glenshaw, Pa./Shaler Area) finished with a team-high 22 assists. Jacob Smeltzer (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley) led the Tomcats in both digs (11) and blocks (four).
 
Colin Dedert led the Lions with 10 kills and 12.0 points. Adrian Martinez tallied 18 digs. Alex Jackson topped the team with 26 assists.
 
The Tomcats' next game will be an AMCC matchup on the road against Geneva Golden Tornadoes on Saturday. The game is scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m.
