GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's volleyball team opened its season Sunday with a 3-0 win over the Saint Vincent Bearcats at Beeghly Gymnasium.
 
Thiel won by scores of 25-23, 25-22 and 25-15.
 
Kylee Eaton (Parker, Pa./AC Valley) led the Tomcats with nine kills while also recording 13 digs. Madi Yurich (Harmony, Pa./Seneca Valley) notched eight kills while Raquel McDonald (Syracuse, N.Y./Bishop Grimes) tallied seven kills and five digs. Courtney Grubbs (Freeport, Pa./Freeport) led the Tomcats with 29 assists and also contributed 11 digs while Abby Triskett (Orwell, Ohio/Grand Valley) chipped in with 13 digs.
 
Becca Miller paced the Bearcats with 11 kills while Luciana Polk notched 16 digs.
 
The Tomcats (1-0) will host the Franciscan Barons Tuesday at Beeghly Gymnasium. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
