Wolverines edge Tomcats

GROVE CITY, Pa. – The Thiel College men's basketball team lost a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game on the road to the Grove City Wolverines Wednesday, 61-59.
 
The Tomcats held a three-point lead at halftime (35-32) and led by as many as eight points in the second half. With 4:42 remaining, Thiel held a seven-point (54-47) lead after Rayshod Hooper (Baltimore, Md./St. Frances Academy) scored on a layup, but Grove City finished game on a 14-5 run to steal the win.
 
John Aarestrup (Miami, Fla./Archbishop Coleman Carroll) led the Tomcats with a game-high 12 points to go along with three rebounds and a pair of steals. Chima Omeihe (Lake Worth, Fla./Park Vista Community) recorded a game-best 10 rebounds while also contributing nine points. Ahmad Tejumola (Waldorf, Md./Saint Charles), Marlon Ellerbee (Temple Hills, Md./Oxon Hill) and Hooper chipped in with eight points apiece.
 
Justice Rice led the Wolverines with 11 points while Ben Rose and Luca Robinson contributed 10 points apiece.
 
The Tomcats (1-2) will host the Geneva Golden Tornadoes (5-2) Saturday at Beeghly Gymnasium. The game is set to begin at 1 p.m.
