GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's soccer team was defeated, 1-0, by the Westminster Titans on Saturday.
The only goal was scored at the 62:31 mark by the Titans. The Tomcats were held scoreless in the contest.
For the Tomcats,
Brock Newsome (Clyde, Ohio/Clyde) tallied three shots on goal.
Chase Yopp (New Brighton, Pa./New Brighton) and
Garret Smith (Warren, Ohio/Mineral Ridge) also notched shots on goal. Goalkeeper
Devin Weisbarth (Akron, Ohio/Norton) totaled a career-high 15 saves. It was his third game this season with double-digit saves and sixth with at least eight saves.
For the Titans, Nick Iregui netted a goal, assisted by Marc Esqueda. Iregui tallied six shots total, including three on goal. Goaltender Jad Jadallah saved four shots in the shutout.
The Tomcats' next game will be Wednesday at home against the Franciscan Barons. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
