GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's volleyball team earned a 3-1 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) win over the Franciscan Lady Barons Thursday night at Beeghly Gymnasium.
After falling in the first set (22-25), the Tomcats won three straight games to secure the win. Thiel won 25-18 in the second set, 25-17 in the third set and 26-24 in the fourth game.
Kylee Eaton (Parker, Pa./AC Valley) led the Tomcats with 16 kills and 13 digs while
Maria Torres (Boardman, Ohio/Boardman) tallied 15 kills and nine digs.
Katie Stamp (Boardman, Ohio/Boardman) and
Erica Gregory (Clinton Township, Mich./Fraser) chipped in with eight and seven kills, respectively.
Also for Thiel,
Danielle Aulet (Austintown, Ohio/Mineral Ridge) recorded a match-best 47 assists to go along with 12 digs.
Abby Triskett (Orwell, Ohio/Grand Valley) led the Tomcats with 19 digs.
Brynn Jacobson led Franciscan with 17 kills. Emily Nutter tallied 33 assists and 10 digs while Sara Moore contributed 22 digs.
The Tomcats, winners of three of their last four matches, will host a PAC tri-match on Saturday against Grove City and Washington & Jefferson. Thiel will face Grove City at noon and Washington & Jefferson at 4 p.m.
