PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Thiel College women's volleyball team lost a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match on the road to the Chatham Cougars Thursday night, 3-0.
Chatham won in straight sets 25-19, 25-19, 25-21.
Maria Torres (Boardman, Ohio/Boardman) and
Raquel McDonald (Syracuse, N.Y./Bishop Grimes) led Thiel's attack with nine kills apiece. Torres also contributed 11 digs while McDonald tallied four solo blocks.
Kylee Eaton (Parker, Pa./AC Valley) had eight digs and four kills.
Danielle Aulet (Austintown, Ohio/Mineral Ridge) recorded 17 assists and 10 digs.
Abby Triskett (Orwell, Ohio/Grand Valley) tallied a match-best 23 digs.
Emily Richie and Amelia Bogovich led the Cougars with 14 and 12 kills, respectively. Bogovich also contributed 19 digs. Shaelah Pepperman registered 27 assists and 15 digs. Meghan Dominek led her team with 20 digs.
The Tomcats finished the regular season with an 11-7 record in PAC play.
The PAC Women's Volleyball Championship Tournament will begin Tuesday, November 2 with two quarterfinal matches (No. 6 at No. 3, No. 5 at No. 4). The top two seeds receive byes to the semifinal round.
