WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Thiel College women's volleyball team earned a 3-1 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) win on the road Tuesday over the Washington & Jefferson Presidents.
Thiel won the first set 25-19 before falling 25-23 in the second set. Thiel won the match with 25-13 and 25-20 wins in the third and fourth sets, respectively.
Maria Torres (Boardman, Ohio/Boardman) led Thiel with a match-high 19 kills will also contributing six digs.
Raquel McDonald (Syracuse, N.Y./Bishop Grimes), who owned an attack percentage of .526 on the night, tallied 11 kills, three digs and a pair of blocks.
Erica Gregory (Clinton Township, Mich./Fraser) chipped in with seven kills while
Mya Storll (Linesville, Pa./Conneaut Area) recorded nine digs and five kills.
Danielle Aulet (Austintown, Ohio/Mineral Ridge) registered a match-best 44 assists and also tallied 10 digs.
Abby Triskett (Orwell, Ohio/Grand Valley) led the Tomcats with 23 digs.
Lizzie Carmichael and Jaden Blough paced the Presidents with 11 and 10 kills, respectively. Alexis Tomassini collected 27 assists and 12 digs. Sophia Sacriponte led W&J with 23 digs.
The Tomcats, who have won 10 of their last 14 matches, improved to 11-6 in PAC play with Tuesday's win.
The Tomcats will conclude regular season play Thursday when they face the Chatham Cougars on the road. The PAC game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
