GROVE CITY, Pa. – The Thiel College women's volleyball team won a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match on the road Thursday night over the Grove City Wolverines, 3-0.
Thiel won in straight sets 25-22, 25-23, 25-21.
Maria Torres (Boardman, Ohio/Boardman) led Thiel with a match-best 20 kills. Torres owned an attack percentage of .292 on the night and also contributed eight digs and two blocks.
Kylee Eaton (Parker, Pa./AC Valley) registered 17 digs and 14 kills while
Raquel McDonald (Syracuse, N.Y./Bishop Grimes) recorded nine kills and three blocks.
Danielle Aulet (Austintown, Ohio/Mineral Ridge) handed out a match-high 41 assists to go along with seven digs.
Abby Triskett (Orwell, Ohio/Grand Valley) led all players with 22 digs while
Emily Sears (Jefferson, Ohio/Geneva) chipped in with 10 digs.
Eloise Augustine and Anna DeGraaf led the Wolverines with seven kills apiece. Kennedy Kerr recorded 18 assists and 10 digs while Faith Keating tallied 17 digs.
The Tomcats, winners of eight of their last 11 matches, improved to 9-6 in PAC play with Thursday's win.
Thiel will host a tri-match at Beeghly Gymnasium on Saturday. The Tomcats will play a PAC match against Saint Vincent at 1 p.m. and a non-conference match against Capital at 5 p.m.
