GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel Tomcats defeated the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets in straight sets Tuesday night at Beeghly Gymnasium, 3-0. The Tomcats won by set scores of 25-17, 25-21, 25-18.
Hailley Kendall (Saint Paris, Ohio/Graham),
Emily Sears (Jefferson, Ohio/Geneva) and
Abby Triskett (Orwell, Ohio/Grand Valley) were honored prior to the match during senior night.
Maria Torres (Boardman, Ohio/Boardman) led Thiel's attack with a match-best 12 kills. Torres owned an attack percentage of .290 on the night.
Jordyn Liedike (Anchorage, Alaska/Grace Christian), who had an attack percentage of .467, notched nine kills and two blocks.
Raquel McDonald (Syracuse, N.Y./Bishop Grimes) and
Kylee Eaton (Parker, Pa./AC Valley) had seven kills apiece while Eaton also contributed 11 digs.
Danielle Aulet (Austintown, Ohio/Mineral Ridge) led all players with 34 assists while also adding six digs. Triskett registered a match-high 20 digs. Sears and Kendall chipped in with 13 and 10 digs, respectively.
Hannah Buhr paced Waynesburg with nine kills while Alyson Johnson tallied 16 digs.
The Tomcats, who have won seven of their last 10 matches, will play the Grove City Wolverines on the road Thursday. The Presidents' Athletic Conference match will begin at 7 p.m.
