GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's soccer team was defeated, 2-1 (OT), by the Washington & Jefferson Presidents in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match on Tuesday.
 
The Presidents struck first at the 34:47 mark and took a 1-0 lead into half. The Tomcats struck back, with a goal from Ryan Harcourt (Hermitage, Pa./Greenville) at the 68:43 mark. That game-tying goal helped send the match into overtime. With just over two minutes remaining in the first overtime period, the Presidents scored to win, 2-1.
 
For the Tomcats, Harcourt scored his first career goal. Brock Newsome (Clyde, Ohio/Clyde) assisted him on the goal for his first assist on the season. Goalkeeper Devin Weisbarth (Akron, Ohio/Norton) totaled 11 saves in just under 98 minutes, his fourth game with double-digit saves.
 
For the Presidents, Joey Feola scored the first goal. Thomas Einolf scored the game-winner in overtime and was assisted by Joseph McKinley. Goaltender Sam Miller saved four shots.
 
The Tomcats' next game will be on the road against the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets on Saturday. The match is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
