BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – The Thiel College men's volleyball team lost a pair of Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) matches Saturday to the Hiram Terriers and Geneva Golden Tornadoes.
Hiram defeated Thiel 25-21, 25-18, 26-24.
Mitch Patterson (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) notched 14 kills against Hiram.
Chance Hoffman (Cochranton, Pa./Cochranton) tallied 31 assists and nine digs.
Jacob DeRue (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) recorded 10 kills while
D'ondre Merren (Brooklyn, Md./North County) contributed 11 digs.
Geneva defeated Thiel 3-0 with a trio of two-points wins, 25-23, 30-28, 26-24.
Patterson notched 16 kills against Geneva while
Chance Hoffman (Cochranton, Pa./Cochranton) handed out 32 assists to go along with 13 digs.
The Tomcats will be back in action Wednesday, March 11 when they take on the Saint Vincent Bearcats on the road. The non-conference match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
