GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's volleyball team swept an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) match from the D'Youville Spartans Wednesday night at Beeghly Gymnasium, 3-0.
Thiel won 25-22, 25-14 and 25-18.
Mitch Patterson (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan), who recorded his 1,000
th career kill in the match, led Thiel's attack with 10 kills.
Chance Hoffman (Cochranton, Pa./Cochranton) recorded 30 assists while
D'ondre Merren (Brooklyn, Md./North County) notched nine digs.
Colton Greenlee (Cochranton, Pa./Cochranton) recorded seven kills, three aces and a pair of blocks.
Jacob DeRue (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) notched six kills, six digs and two blocks.
Anthony Dean led the Spartans with eight kills. Karl Jauch registered 18 assists while Mitch Mason contributed nine digs.
Thiel will play AMCC matches against Hiram and Geneva on the road Saturday. The Hiram match will begin at noon with the Geneva match scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
