BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Thiel College men's volleyball team lost an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) match on the road Wednesday to the Medaille Mavericks, 3-1.
Thiel won the first set 26-24, but Medaille went on to win the next three games by scores of 25-17, 25-21 and 25-16.
Mitch Patterson (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) led the Tomcats with 12 kills.
Chance Hoffman (Cochranton, Pa./Cochranton) recorded 21 assists, 12 digs and four aces.
Chris Pauline notched a match-best 14 kills for the Mavericks. Jake Siwy tallied 35 assists while Kevin Cashdollar contributed 17 digs.
The Tomcats will play their home opener on Wednesday, Feb. 26 against the D'Youville Spartans. The AMCC match is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
