WAYNESBURG, Pa. – The Thiel College men's basketball team dropped a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) contest to the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets 76-64 on Saturday.
Thiel came out of the gates fast establishing a 9-2 lead just first four minutes into the game. Waynesburg countered with a 14-5 run of their own to take a 16-14 lead with 11:38 left to play in the first half.
With the remaining time, each team would battle for supremacy as the first half ended in a tie at 26.
The Yellow Jackets took the lead back just 30 seconds into the second half and did not trail for the rest of the game.
Chima Omeihe (Lake Worth, Fla./Park Vista Community) paced the Tomcats offensive effort with 15 points and 12 rebounds off the bench for his third double-double on the season.
Daquan Simmons (Capitol Heights, Md./Central) scored 11 points including knocking down three three-pointers.
Waynesburg was led by Frank Bozicevic who tallied a game-high 26 points.
The Tomcats will be back in action on Wednesday when they face the Geneva Golden Tornadoes on the road. The PAC game is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff.
