GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's soccer team opened its season with a scoreless tie that ended in double-overtime against Franciscan on Friday.

Defensively, goalkeeper Devin Weisbarth (Akron, Ohio/Norton) kept the Tomcats alive all game with 12 saves in net.

Bradley Novak (Wellington, Ohio/Keystone), Evan Young (Bryans Road, Md. /Henry E. Lackey), Connor Swatts (Greenwood, Ind./Whiteland Community) and Brock Newsome (Clyde, Ohio/Clyde) all recorded a shot on goal in the contest.

Thiel will travel to Buffalo, N.Y. on Sunday, Sept. 1 to face the D'Youville Spartans. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.
