GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's volleyball team defeated D'Youville College 3-1 in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) match on Wednesday night at Beeghly Gymnasium.
The Tomcats dropped the first set 25-17 before rallying back to win each of the next three sets (25-18, 25-14, 25-23) to take the conference match 3-1 over the Spartans.
Leaders for the Tomcats included
Chance Hoffman (Cochranton, Pa./Cochranton) with 12 kills,
Ryan Sumarsono (Victor, N.Y./Victor) with 17 digs, and
Stephen Borgen (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler Area) with 34 assists.
With the win, Thiel improves to 14-10 overall and 9-2 in the AMCC.
The Tomcats will play two conference games in Erie, Pa. on Saturday, as they will face Hiram College at 12 p.m. before facing Geneva College at 2 p.m.
