GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's lacrosse team earned a 19-2 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) win over the Bethany Bison Saturday at Alumni Stadium.
Thiel led 4-0 after one period and 7-1 at halftime before outscoring Bethany 12-1 in the second half.
Desmond Stuart (Roanoke, Va./Salem), who was honored prior to the game during Senior Day, led Thiel with five goals. He also recorded a pair of assists to finish with seven points.
Jeffrey Karnoff (Ringoes, NJ/Hunterdon Central) also notched seven points (3G, 4A) while
Andrew Monks (Butler, Pa./Butler) tallied six points (2G, 4A).
JJ Raab (Butler, Pa./Butler) scored four goals for the Tomcats while
Jack Fontana (Olmsted Falls, Ohio/Olmsted) scored three goals. Fontana also won 19-of-24 faceoffs and picked up 20 ground balls.
Sheldon Bourdeau (Clarkston, MI/Clarkston) scored a goal, led Thiel with three caused turnovers and picked up six ground balls.
Cole O'Connor (Midlothian, Va./James River) made 10 saves to pick up his sixth win of the season. Andrew Smith made 18 saves for Bethany.
Chandler Dunn paced the Bison with two points (1G, 1A).
The Tomcats (7-5, 2-2 PAC) will host the Chatham Cougars (8-5, 3-2 PAC) Thursday at Alumni Stadium. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
