GROVE CITY, Pa. – The Thiel College baseball team lost two Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) games on Tuesday afternoon as they fell to Grove City College 5-1 and 8-7.
Thiel opened the first game of the doubleheader against Grove City with a 5-1 loss,
Jamin Wentling (Greenville, Pa./Greenville) drove in Thiel's only run of the game on a sacrifice fly.
In game two, Thiel jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the third as
Christian Aldrich (Cranberry Township, Pa./Central Catholic) scored two runs on a single, before
Andrew Giesey (Penn, Pa./Penn Trafford) grounded out to push across another run.
The Wolverines roared back in the fifth and sixth as they scored seven unanswered runs to take a 7-3 advantage over the Tomcats. A four-run eighth knotted Thiel up with Grove City at 7-7.
Grove City would take the game on a walk off error by the Tomcats in the ninth as Grove City took game two 8-7.
The Tomcats will be back in action on Saturday as they host Saint Vincent College for a PAC doubleheader at Tomcat Park, first pitch for the twin bill is set for 1 p.m.
