Mackenzie Quinn (Carnegie, Pa./Chartiers Valley) scored her 100
th career goal Saturday during the Thiel College women's lacrosse team's 16-4 non-conference win over the Alfred Saxons at the Rissell-Schreyer Dome.
Quinn scored her 100
th goal with 12:30 remaining in the first half. She is one of just four players in school history to reach the 100-goal plateau, joining teammate
Paige Scherer (Cranberry, Pa./Seneca Valley).
The Tomcats opened up an 8-0 lead Saturday and cruised to the non-conference victory.
Quinn led the Tomcats with five goals and added three assists for an eight-point game. Scherer recorded four points (2G, 2A) and led the team with five ground balls.
Erica Auberzinski (Odenton, Md./Arundel) scored three goals and led Thiel with seven draw controls.
Maddy Wightman (Glenshaw, Pa./Shaler) also tallied three points (2G, 1A).
Emily Ramous (Bridgeville, Pa./Chartiers Valley) made six saves in the win for the Tomcats. Paige Rowlee made 13 saves for the Saxons.
The Tomcats, who improved to 2-1 on the season with Saturday's win, will face the Juniata Eagles on the road Monday. The non-conference game is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
