FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Thiel College baseball team concluded play at the 2019 Gene Cusic Classic on Sunday with an 11-3 victory over Baruch College.
The Tomcats scored eight unanswered runs as Thiel starter
Will Brandsema (Orlando, Fla./Cypress Creek) went six innings, while allowing just one hit and no runs.
Four Tomcats collected multiple hits as
Christian Aldrich (Cranberry Township, Pa./Central Catholic),
Nick Fowkes (New Eagle, Pa./Ringgold),
Joe Mott (Kinsman, Ohio/Badger), and
Anthony Rago (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) each added two hits on the day. Aldrich blasted his second home run of the year on Sunday.
Thiel went on to win the nonconference contest 11-3 over Baruch.
The Tomcats return to action on Saturday as they face Mount Aloysius College for a nonconference doubleheader at Tomcat Park, first pitch is set for 4 p.m.
