BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – The Thiel College men's basketball team suffered a 51-42 Presidents' Athletic Conference loss Saturday on the road to the Geneva Golden Tornadoes.
Thiel and Geneva played to a 20-20 tie at halftime.
Terrance Holloway (Farrell, Pa./Farrell), who scored a game-best 21 points, gave the Tomcats a 3-point lead twice early in the second half, but the Golden Tornadoes went ahead for good with 6:40 remaining in regulation.
In addition to his 21 points, Holloway grabbed three rebounds and came up with a pair of steals.
Ahmad Tejumola (Waldorf, Md./Saint Charles) scored six points and recorded six rebounds.
Michael Ricks (Cleveland, Ohio/Cleveland School of Architecture and Design) and
Jace Coffie (Oviedo, Fla./Paul J. Hagerty) each contributed six rebounds.
Noah Damazo led Geneva with 15 points while Nick Rusyn recorded a game-high 10 rebounds. David Oliver also contributed 12 points.
The Tomcats earned the eighth seed in next week's PAC Championship Tournament. Thiel will face top-seeded Saint Vincent in the tournament quarterfinals on Tuesday. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
