NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Thiel College men's basketball team lost its second game of the Buzz Ridl Classic against the Bluffton Beavers 83-58 on Saturday.
Daquan Simmons (Capitol Heights, Md./Central), the only Thiel player to score double-digits, led the offensive effort with 22 points. Simmons, made 6-of-12 shots from the floor, including 3-of-5 from beyond the arc. He also recorded three rebounds and two assists.
Simmons, who scored 34 points in two games, was named to the Buzz Ridl Classic All-Tournament Team.
Andre Williams (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./Boyd H. Anderson) added eight points and six rebounds in the loss.
Four Beavers had double-digit point performances in the win. Andrew Renner led Bluffton with 18 points.
The Tomcats will be back in action on Wednesday when they host the Saint Vincent Bearcats. The Presidents' Athletic Conference matchup is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
