UTICA, N.Y. – The Thiel College men's volleyball team fell in both of their matches on Saturday in the final day of the SUNY-Poly Invitational.
Thiel opened the day with a 3-0 loss to Elms College to drop to 0-2 on the year. Leaders for the Tomcats against the Blazers included
Chance Hoffman (Cochranton, Pa./Cochranton) with 13 kills and
Colton Greenlee (Cochranton, Pa./Cochranton) with a game-high 6 blocks.
In match number two, Thiel fell 3-1 to SUNY-Poly. The Tomcats started strong as they took the first set 26-24 before dropping each of the next three sets. A tightly contested fourth set sealed the loss as Thiel was edged 29-27.
Hoffman led the Tomcats in kills again this time with a game-high 16, well Greenlee collected another six block match.
Greenlee was named to the All-Tournament for his performance in the Tomcat's three games.
Thiel is back in action on Friday as they travel to Rochester, N.Y. to compete in the Golden Flyer Invitational, the Tomcats face Nazareth College at 4:00 p.m.
