BRADFORD, Pa. – The Thiel College men's soccer team earned a 2-1 non-conference win on the road in double-overtime over the Pitt Bradford Panthers Monday.
With the win, Thiel improved to 2-0 for the first time since 2009.
After the Tomcats took the lead in the 66
th minute, Panther Dakota Graham evened the score near the 73
rd minute.
The score remained 1-1 through the end of regulation and the first overtime period.
Freshman forward
Bradley Novak (Wellington, Ohio/Keystone) scored the game-winner for the Tomcats on a header with less than three minutes remaining in double-overtime.
Cole Duskey (Orrville, Ohio/Orrville) picked up the assist on Novak's first collegiate goal.
Christian Conrad (Barberton, Ohio/Central Catholic) made six saves for Thiel while Derrick Brock denied five shots for Pitt Bradford.
Thiel will face Pitt Greensburg on the road Thursday. The non-conference game is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m.
