GREENSBURG, Pa. – The Thiel College men's soccer team improved to 3-0 for the first time in program history Thursday with a 1-0 non-conference win on the road over the Pitt Greensburg Bobcats.
Zachary Oliver (Bridgeport, Ohio/St. Clairsville) scored the game-winner in the 22
nd minute on a shot that curled its way into the back of the net after he received a pass from
Connor Swatts (Greenwood, Ind./Whiteland Community). It was Oliver's second goal of the season.
Thiel's defense held the rest of the game despite Pitt Greensburg holding a 14-8 edge in shots.
Christian Conrad (Barberton, Ohio/Central Catholic), Thiel's career leader in shutouts, made seven saves to pick up his first clean sheet of the season.
Thiel (3-0) will play its home opener Saturday against the Mount Aloysius Mounties. The non-conference game is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. at Alumni Stadium.
