HIRAM, Ohio – The Thiel College women's volleyball team dropped two nonconference matches on Tuesday night to Hiram College and Baldwin Wallace University.
In match one, Thiel fell in straight sets to Baldwin Wallace (25-17, 25-13, 25-20). Thiel's offense was kept in check as no Tomcat recorded more than five kills.
The Tomcats were swept in their second match of the night as well. The Terriers downed the Tomcats in three sets (25-14, 25-12, 25-15). Leaders for the Tomcats included
Kasey Kohler (New Springfield, Ohio/Springfield Local) with eight kills,
Courtney Grubbs (Freeport, Pa./Freeport) with 17 assists, and
Peyton Allen (Mineral Ridge, Ohio/Mineral Ridge) with 13 digs in three sets.
After tonight, Thiel sits at 7-11 overall and 2-4 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC).
Thiel returns to action on Saturday as they face Geneva College and Waynesburg University in a PAC tri-match in Beaver Falls, Pa. The Tomcats first match is set for 11:00 a.m. against Geneva.
