GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's soccer team suffered a 2-0 non-conference loss to the Medaille Mavericks Wednesday night at Alumni Stadium.
Mitchell Ali staked the Mavericks to an early lead when he scored 3:36 into the contest from inside the box off a corner kick by Matt Burke.
It remained a 1-0 game until Carlos Espana doubled Medaille's lead when he scored on a pass from Burke inside the box roughly five minutes into the second half.
Christian Conrad (Barberton, Ohio/Central Catholic) made 10 saves in the loss. Jonny Pitts made one save for the Mavericks to earn the shutout win.
Thiel (4-4) will host Heidelberg Saturday at Alumni Stadium. The non-conference game is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m.
