BETHANY, W.Va. – The Thiel College women's volleyball team dropped a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) contest to Bethany College on Wednesday night.
The Tomcats were swept 3-0 (25-23, 25-17, 25-20) by the Bison.
Kasey Kohler (New Springfield, Ohio/Springfield Local) was the only Tomcat with double-digit kills on the night. Freshman setter
Courtney Grubbs (Freeport, Pa./Freeport) collected 26 assists and
Peyton Allen (Mineral Ridge, Ohio/Mineral Ridge) added a team-high 13 digs.
Thiel was unable to stop Bethany's offense as Katie Sparks collected a match-high 23 kills and Emily Duke dished out 44 assists for the Bison.
With the loss, Thiel falls to 3-7 overall and 0-2 in PAC play.
The Tomcats will return to Beeghly Gymnasium on Saturday for a PAC tri-match. Thiel will host Chatham University and Saint Vincent College. The Tomcats will face Chatham at 10:00 a.m. before facing Saint Vincent at 2:00 p.m.
