HAMBURG, N.Y. – Senior
Zachary Oliver (Bridgeport, Ohio/St. Clairsville) recorded a hat trick and added an assist for a seven-point game to lead the Thiel College men's soccer team to a 7-0 non-conference road win Wednesday over the Hilbert Hawks.
Oliver's seven points are the second most in a single-game in program history, trailing only Nikola Vasilev, who recorded eight points in a game against Waynesburg on Oct. 29, 2004.
With his assist Wednesday, Oliver also moved into a tie with Jordan Lilley as the program's career leader in assists (14). Oliver leads the Tomcats with 11 points and five goals on the season.
Cole Duskey (Orrville, Ohio/Orrville),
Hunter Young (Columbus, Ohio/Thomas Worthington),
Eric Mitchell (Barberton, Ohio/Barberton) and
Tyler Hartz (Orwell, Ohio/Grand Valley) also scored one goal apiece for the Tomcats Wednesday.
Bradley Novak (Wellington, Ohio/Keystone),
Reese McDonald (Girard, Pa./Girard),
Luke Lindeman (Lakewood, N.Y./Southwestern Central) and
Andreas Hauge Jonassen (Stavanger, Nor/) picked up one assist apiece.
Christian Conrad (Barberton, Ohio/Central Catholic) made three saves to earn his second shutout of the season.
The Tomcats (4-1) will host the La Roche Redhawks Friday at Alumni Stadium. The non-conference game is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
