GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College softball team suffered a 3-0 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) loss Monday to the Westminster Titans at Tomcat Park.
Lauren McNany opened scoring for the Titans in the second inning when she scored on a wild pitch. Westminster added two more runs in the third, one of which came on Jazmyn Rohrer's RBI-single to left field.
Roherer kept Thiel's offense in check. She allowed just three hits and recorded five strikeouts to earn the shutout win.
Katlyn Pennell (Mooresville, N.C./Liberty Prep) led the Tomcats at the plate with a pinch-hit triple.
A.J. Corradi (Youngstown, Ohio/Austintown Fitch) and
Alexa Fike (Export, Pa./Franklin Regional) also recorded one hit apiece.
Shannon Baker (Corry, Pa./Corry) took the loss for the Tomcats.
Jessica Kelley (Freeport, Pa./Freeport) threw four innings of scoreless relief work. Kelley allowed just two hits and struck out three batters.
The Tomcats will face the Geneva Golden Tornadoes on the road Thursday. The first game of the PAC doubleheader is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.
