CRESTVIEW HILLS, KY. – The Thiel College baseball team split a Presidents' Athletics Conference (PAC) doubleheader to Thomas More College on Friday. The Tomcats fell in game one 17-3 before taking game two 13-11 in extra innings.
Despite the Tomcats leading off game one with a solo homerun from
Zach Hudecek (Gibsonia, Pa./Deer Lakes) the Saints rebounded to score 13 unanswered runs to take control of the game.
Daniel Patrice (Munich, Germany/EST) also homered in game one but it proved to not be enough as Thiel fell 17-3.
Game two was a back and forth contest as the Tomcats held an 11-7 lead heading into the ninth before the Saints collected four runs in their last at bat to force extras. Thomas More's Ben Laumann's homer to left field scored three in the ninth to make it 11-11.

Drew Dellert (Dover, Del./Poly-Tech) singled to center field to score two and made 13-11 Thiel. Tomcat reliever
Anthony Rago (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) would shut out the Saints in the bottom half of the inning to secure the game two victory.
Rago would collect his second save of the year and have a game-high four hits in the Tomcats' extra-inning victory.
With the split, Thiel now stand at 11-14 overall and 7-3 in the PAC.
The Tomcats are back in action on Sunday as they host non-conference opponent Penn State Behrend at Tomcat Park. First pitch is set for 1:00 p.m.
