WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Thiel College women's lacrosse team dropped an Ohio River Lacrosse Conference (ORLC) matchup to Washington and Jefferson College 16-1 on Wednesday.
The Presidents opened play with four straight goals before Thiel's
Paige Scherer (Cranberry, Pa./Seneca Valley) got the Tomcats on the board with 23:23 left in the first to make it 4-1. Scherer's goal would be Thiel's lone goal of the night as the Tomcats were unable to convert on any of their other 15 shots.
W&J continued to have success on offense as they would go on to score 12 unanswered to take the match 16-1.
With the loss, Thiel falls to 3-6 and 3-3 in the ORLC.
The Tomcats return to action on Saturday as they travel to the College of Mount St. Joseph for an ORLC matchup. Game is set for 1:00 p.m.
