ERIE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's volleyball team was defeated twice in straight sets by non-conference opponents Siena Heights and Penn State Behrend on Saturday.
Thiel fell 3-0 in match number one to the Saints as they took the match by scores of 25-14, 25-17, and 28-26.
Jacob DeRue (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) collected double-digit kills (10) and
Stephen Borgen (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler Area) added 30 assists in the three-set match.
Game two saw the Tomcats fall 3-0 to the Lions. Despite getting swept in three, DeRue and Borgen both had game-high in kills and assists, respectively.
The Tomcats travel to Buena Vista, Va. on Friday to face Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC) opponent, match is set to begin at 7:00 p.m.
