GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's volleyball team defeated Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC) opponent Neumann University Saturday afternoon 3-1 at Beeghly Gymnasium.
The Tomcats jumped out to a two set advantage to start the game before dropping the third set (32-30) to the Knights.
Thiel bounced back and closed out the fourth set (25-10) to take the match 3-1.
Leaders for the Tomcats included
Chance Hoffman (Cochranton, Pa./Cochranton) with a game-high 11 kills and
Matthew Slater (Butler, Pa./Butler) as he dished out a game-high 21 assists.
Mitchell Patterson (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) added a season-high six aces in the match.
With the win, Thiel improves to 7-9 overall and 3-5 in the CVC.
The Tomcats will be back in action on Friday, March 2 as they travel to Chambersburg, Pa. to face nonconference opponent Wilson College at 7:00 PM.
