PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Thiel College men's team basketball fell to Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) opponent Chatham University 63-61.
Thiel trailed Chatham 33-25 at the half after shooting 11-26 from the field and 1 of 5 from beyond the arc. Freshman
Tyrese Robinson (Pittsburgh, Pa./Woodland Hills) lead the Tomcats eight points and ten rebounds in the first. Robinson would end the game with a double-double and a career-high 19 points.
The Tomcats erased the cougars eight-point lead with 4:11 remaining in the game to take their first lead since the first half. Chatham quickly took back the lead and continued to convert on foul shots to keep Thiel at bay.
The Tomcats had chances down the stretch to tie the game but were unable to force overtime and fell by a final score of 63-61.
With the loss, Thiel falls to 7-16 overall and 5-13 in the PAC.
The eighth-seeded Tomcats will travel to first-seeded Thomas More College on Tuesday in the quarterfinals of PAC Championship Tournament, tip off is set for 7 p.m.
