CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. – The Thiel College men's basketball team was eliminated from the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship Tournament Tuesday after suffering a 72-57 loss on the road to the top-seeded Thomas More Saints.
The eighth-seeded Tomcats trailed by just four points at halftime (30-26), but the Saints never lost the lead and led by as many as 21 points midway through the second half.
Freshman guard
Daquan Simmons (Capitol Heights, Md./Central) led the Tomcats with 13 points.
Josh Lumbus (Cleveland, Ohio/John Hay) scored 12 points and led his team with nine rebounds.
Tyrese Robinson (Pittsburgh, Pa./Woodland Hills) and
Mert Ozkaynak (Izmir, Turkey/T.C. Williams) chipped in with 10 points apiece.
Ryne Callahan scored a game-high 16 points and led the Saints with nine rebounds. Damion King and Simon Clifford scored 15 points apiece while Ralph Stone scored nine points and grabbed eight rebounds.
