WOOSTER, Ohio – The Thiel College men's basketball team suffered a 106-60 loss Saturday to the New Jersey City Gothic Knights in the opening round of the E.M. "Mose" Hole/Wooster Kiwanis Classic, hosted by the College of Wooster at Timken Gymnasium.
Sophomore guard
Terrance Holloway (Farrell, Pa./Farrell) led the Tomcats with 12 points.
Alonzo Brown (Largo, Fla./Pinellas Park) scored 11 points and recorded a game-best six rebounds.
Nyric Gosley (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport) and
A.J. Davis (Waldorf, Md./Westlake) contributed 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Sam Toney led the Gothic Knights with 21 points, 15 of which came from 3-point range. Yuri Brutus and Najuan Thomas-Cancel chipped in with 16 and 13 points, respectively.
The game was the first ever in men's basketball between the Tomcats and Gothic Knights.
The Tomcats will conclude play in the E.M. "Mose" Hole/Wooster Kiwanis Classic Sunday when they face the Ohio Wesleyan Battling Bishops. The game is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. at the College of Wooster's Timken Gymnasium.
