WOOSTER, Ohio – The Thiel College men's basketball team was defeated 96-78 by the Ohio Wesleyan Battling Bishops Sunday during play in the E.M. "Mose" Hole/Wooster Kiwanis Classic, which was hosted by the College of Wooster at Timken Gymnasium.
Ahmad Tejumola (Waldorf, Md./Saint Charles) led the Tomcats with 18 points and nine rebounds.
Anthony Byrd (Plantation, Fla./Blanche Ely) scored 17 points while
Alonzo Brown (Largo, Fla./Pinellas Park) scored 14 points and pulled down four rebounds.
Terrance Holloway (Farrell, Pa./Farrell) also contributed 12 points.
Brown was named to the E.M. "Mose" Hole/Wooster Kiwanis Classic All-Tournament Team Sunday. He scored 11 points and recorded a game-best six rebounds Saturday against the New Jersey City Gothic Knights.
Ethan Stanislawski led Ohio Wesleyan with a game-high 25 points. Nick Carlson scored 17 points while Gabe Johnson, Grant Gossard and Jake Hecker chipped in with 11 points apiece. Hecker also led the Battling Bishops with nine rebounds.
The Tomcats will be back in action Thursday when they host the Washington & Jefferson Presidents at Beeghly Gymnasium. The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
