GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's volleyball team fell 3-1 in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) matchup on Wednesday night at Beeghly Gymnasium.
The Golden Tornadoes and Tomcats split the first two sets before Geneva ran off with the last two sets to take the match, 3-1.
Jessica Kelley (Freeport, Pa./Freeport) collected a team-high nine kills and Courtney Grubbs (Freeport, Pa./Freeport) recorded 34 assists.
On defense, Peyton Allen (Mineral Ridge, Ohio/Mineral Ridge) racked up 34 digs and Grubbs, Shelby Friedel (Columbia Station, Ohio/Columbia), and Macy Jordan (York, Pa./York Suburban) all earned two blocks apiece.
The team honored its five senior members before the game including Peyton Allen (Mineral Ridge, Ohio/Mineral Ridge), Shelby Friedel (Columbia Station, Ohio/Columbia), Macy Jordan (York, Pa./York Suburban), Jessica Kelley (Freeport, Pa./Freeport), and Hannah Rossman (Fairview, Pa./Fairview).
With the result, Thiel falls to 14-18 overall and 6-9 in the PAC.
The Tomcats finish the PAC regular season on the road at Waynesburg University on Friday, first serve is set for 7:00 p.m.
