GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's basketball team lost a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game to the Thomas More Saints Wednesday at Beeghly Gymnasium, 75-61.
Thiel trailed Thomas More by just a point at halftime (35-34). The Tomcats went ahead by four points (43-39) on a layup by
Nyric Gosley (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport) with 15:20 left in the second half, but the Saints reclaimed the lead (48-47) on a layup by Junior Stockwell with 10:48 remaining and never trailed the rest of the way.
Tyreik Burton (Lewes, Del./Cape Henlopen) led the Tomcats with 16 points.
Avril Campbell (Dumfries, Va./Potomac) scored 14 points and pulled down eight rebounds.
Mert Ozkaynak (Izmir, Turkey/T.C. Williams) scored 11 points while
Tyrese Robinson (Pittsburgh, Pa./Woodland Hills) led Thiel with 12 rebounds.
Damion King scored a game-best 23 points for the Saints. Ryne Callahan scored 14 points while Austin Young tallied 13 points. Ralph Stone led the Saints with 12 rebounds.
The Tomcats will return to action Saturday when they host the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets at Beeghly Gymnasium. The PAC game is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
