PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Thiel College men's soccer team suffered a 5-1 non-conference loss Sunday on the road to the La Roche Redhawks.
La Roche took an early 2-0 lead on goals by Pedro Ansede and Tyler Grebur.
Eric Mitchell (Barberton, Ohio/Barberton) scored his first goal of the season on an assist from
Zachary Oliver (Bridgeport, Ohio/St. Clairsville) in the 24
th minute to cut the lead in half, but Ansede scored on a penalty kick roughly two minutes later.
Ansede finished the game with three goals while Grebur netted a pair of goals. Firas Abduljawad and Joaquin Vicent Franc each added a pair of assists.
Christian Conrad (Barberton, Ohio/Central Catholic) made two saves for the Tomcats while Austin Gorman denied two shots for the Redhawks.
The Tomcats (2-2) will host the Hilbert Hawks Wednesday at Alumni Stadium. The non-conference game will begin at 7:30 p.m.
