FRANKLIN, Ind. –
Jennifer Rickens (Pittsburgh, Pa./Chartiers Valley) scored four goals Sunday, but it wasn't enough for the Thiel College women's lacrosse team in a 16-5 Ohio River Lacrosse Conference (ORLC) loss on the road to the Franklin Grizzlies.
Franklin took an early 2-0 lead Sunday. Rickens answered with an unassisted goal roughly three minutes after the opening draw, but the Grizzlies went on to score eight more goals in the first half en route to the ORLC win.
Rickens led the Tomcats with four goals.
Paige Scherer (Cranberry, Pa./Seneca Valley) scored a goal and added an assist on Rickens' third marker.
Lexi Ingram led the Grizzlies with seven points (5G, 2A). Jess Silva also contributed five points (4G, 1A).
Kyra Farrell (Pittsburgh, Pa./Oakland Catholic) made four saves for the Tomcats while Kayanna Wolter made three saves for the Grizzlies.
The Tomcats will host the Westminster Titans Wednesday at Alumni Stadium. The ORLC contest is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
