GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's volleyball team faced Cairn University in a Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC) match Friday night. Thiel went on to sweep Cairn 3-0 by scores of 25-21, 25-15, and 25-12.
Cody Patterson (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) and
Mitchell Patterson (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) led the Tomcats as they both tallied a game-high nine kills in the match.
Zach Rombach (Severn, Md./Archbishop Spalding) had a match-high 36 assists.
With the win Thiel improved to 10-15 overall and 4-9 in the CVC.
The Tomcats will return to action Saturday when they face the Rutgers-Newark Scarlet Raiders at Beeghly Gymnasium for the last game of the season and Senior Day. The CVC match is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
