GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel Tomcats defeated the Bethany Bison 19-3 Wednesday in Ohio River Lacrosse Conference (ORLC) action at Alumni Stadium.
The win was Thiel's 10
th of the 2017 season, which extended the program's streak of 10-win campaigns to three seasons.
Thiel led Bethany 3-0 after 15 minutes Wednesday and extended its lead to 8-1 at halftime.
Kyle Reib (Erie, Pa./McDowell) led the Tomcats with seven points (5G, 2A).
Brennen O'Shea (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley) (4G),
Edward Kargbo (Alexandria, Va./T.C. Williams) (2G, 2A) and
Liam Stickle (Clarkston, Mich./Clarkston) (2G, 2A) each contributed four points.
Will Gatling paced the Bison with a pair of goals.
Cole O'Connor (Midlothian, Va./James River) made three saves in the first period to improve his record to 4-0 on the season.
Charles Wistner (Buffalo, N.Y./Orchard Park) also made six saves for the Tomcats in 45 minutes of work. Seth Rhodes denied 23 saves for the Bison.
Prior to the Wednesday's game, Kargbo and
Nate Monks (Butler, Pa./Butler) were honored during Senior Day.
Thiel (10-2, 5-0 ORLC) has a pair of ORLC road games remaining on its regular season schedule. The Tomcats will take on the Saint Vincent Bearcats Sunday (1 p.m.) before facing the Transylvania Pioneers on Saturday, April 29 (2:30 p.m.).
