CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Thiel College men's lacrosse team won an Ohio River Lacrosse Conference (ORLC) game on the road Saturday over the Mount St. Joseph Lions, 18-5.
The Tomcats opened up an early 4-0 lead in the conference game on a pair of goals by
Brennen O'Shea (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley) and one goal apiece from
Liam Stickle (Clarkston, Mich./Clarkston) and
Mike Bryant (Cleveland, Ohio/Cleveland Heights). The Tomcats also scored nine straight goals in the contest in a span of roughly 21 minutes that covered nearly the entire third quarter and six minutes of the fourth quarter.
O'Shea led the Tomcats with five goals and an assist (6 points).
Kyle Reib (Erie, Pa./McDowell) scored three goals and an assist (4 points) while
Edward Kargbo (Alexandria, Va./T.C. Williams) scored three goals.
Jesse Purdy and Kevin McClanahan paced the Lions with two goals apiece.
Cole O'Connor (Midlothian, Va./James River) made eight saves and earned the win for the Tomcats. Mike Well made 17 saves for the Lions.
The Tomcats (9-2, 4-0 ORLC) will host the Bethany Bison Wednesday at Alumni Stadium. The ORLC game is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
