ARLINGTON, Va. – The Thiel College men's volleyball team suffered a 3-0 Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC) loss Saturday to the Marymount (Va.) Saints. Thiel lost by scores of 25-15, 25-17 and 25-17.
Mitchell Patterson (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) and
Jacob DeRue (Penfield, N.Y./Fairport) led the Tomcats with five kills apiece while
Zach Rombach (Severn, Md./Archbishop Spalding) tallied 16 assists.
T.J. Wiechecki and Tomasz Ksiazkiewicz led the Saints, who were ranked 11
th according to the most recent American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) NCAA Division III Men's Volleyball poll, with eight kills apiece. Joseph Zanelotti handed out 18 assists.
The Tomcats will return to action Tuesday when they host the Juniata Eagles at Beeghly Gymnasium. The CVC match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
