GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel Tomcats won a three-set match Tuesday night at Beeghly Gymnasium against the Hilbert College Hawks.
 
Thiel swept the first three sets of the non-conference matchup by scores of 25-12, 25-17, and 25-21.
 
Jacob DeRue (Penfield, N.Y./Fairport) led the Tomcats with 9 kills and four aces while Thad Paunovich (Avonmore, Pa./Kiski Area) racked up nine digs and eight assists. The Tomcats improved to 5-9 with the win.
 
Michael Podgorny led the Hawks with a match-high 10 kills. Also, Adam Heftka had 21 assists and 3 blocks. The Hawks fell to 0-10.
 
The Tomcats will return to action Wednesday when they travel to Penn State Altoona. The non-conference match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
