ALTOONA, Pa. – The Thiel Tomcats lost a three-set match Wednesday night at Alder Gymnasium against the Penn State Altoona Lions.
Penn State Altoona swept the first three sets of the non-conference matchup by scores of 25-18, 25-22, and 25-21.
Zach Rombach (Severn, Md./Archbishop Spalding) led the Tomcats with a match-high 41 assists while
Mitchell Patterson (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) tallied 15 kills. The Tomcats fall to 5-10 with the loss.
Bradley Colditz led the Lions with 15 kills and six digs. Also, Billy Smith racked up 18 assists. The Lions improve to 11-4 with the win.
The Tomcats will return to action on Tuesday, March 14 when they travel to Penn State Behrend. The non-conference match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
