GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel Tomcats won a three-set match Friday night at Beeghly Gymnasium against the Alvernia University Crusaders.
Thiel won the first three sets of the Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC) matchup by scores of 25-16, 25-21, and 25-20.
Cody Patterson (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) led the Tomcats with a match-high 12 kills while
Mitchell Patterson (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) racked up 11 kills.
Jacob Burkley (Waterford, Pa./Fort LeBoeuf) had a match-high with four blocks.
The Tomcats improved to 4-8, 2-4 CVC with the win. Collin Welteroth led the Crusaders with a match-high 13 kills. Also, Justin Gibbs had 37 assists and 2 blocks. The Crusaders fell to 8-5, 0-4 CVC.
The Tomcats will return to action Saturday when they host the Stevenson University Mustangs at Beeghly Gymnasium. The CVC match is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
