WAYNESBURG, Pa. – The Thiel College men's soccer team lost a Presidents' Athletic Conference game to Waynesburg University on Saturday afternoon.
The Tomcats fell 3-0 to the Yellow Jackets on the road.
The Yellow Jackets struck first on a penalty kick from Nate Kummer to put them ahead 1-0 in the 9'.
The Tomcats outshot the Yellow Jackets in the first half 6-5 but still trailed 1-0 heading into the half.
In the second half, Waynesburg answered early as Tyler Sisler finished a ball inside the box to make it 2-0 in favor of the Yellow Jackets. Sisler added another late goal in the 78' to bolster the Waynesburg' lead at 3-0.
Eric Mitchell (Barberton, Ohio/Barberton),
Tyler Novak (Oberlin, Ohio/Open Door Christian),
Josh Evjene (Orrstown, Pa./Chambersburg), and
Christopher Felger (New Castle, Pa./Mohawk) each recorded shots on goal for the Tomcats.
The Tomcats will be back in action on Monday, Oct. 16 as they host the Washington and Jefferson College Presidents in a PAC match, kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m.
